Warkworth Castle

Warkworth Castle sits in the village of Warkworth, just south of Alwick. While the site is managed by English Heritage, it is still officially owned by the Percy family and was, before it fell into disrepair in the 1500s. The village and keep sit in a loop in the River Coquet, meaning that in its heyday it would have effectively been surrounded on three sides by water. Today the village is a very popular tourist destination and the village has grown accordingly. The riverside view, however, is a popular location with photographers and is on my list for an autumn shoot.
