Duddo Standing Stones
The Duddo standing stones, or Duddo Five Stones, is a stone circle north of Duddo and just south of the Scottish border. Archaeological excavations at the end of the 1800s suggest that there were originally seven stones. The circle was know as the four stones until the fifth was found in 1903.
There are a couple of decent viewpoints for photographing the stones as a group, but the deep fissures in the sandstone means that they could also work as individual subjects. The stones also sit atop a small hill surrounded by barley fields.. AT the right time of year the fbarley can form a lovely leading line.
